Review of I Kissed a Frog and My Prince Forgave Me

Naomi Jo Rush has compiled a book of poetry that takes you on a ride, feeling her pain, as she journeyed through infidelity until finally bringing her back to the one she loves. Be prepared, this ride is an emotional roller coaster that will grip you in her insecurities, passion, guts and true love. Naomi proves she is one tough cowgirl!

My personal favorites from this collection are too many to list here. Poems like First Time, Hello Dear, Christmas Goodbye Song, Hush Little Mistress, Telling Her Everything, Answers, Missing Something, One Real Man and My New Vows are moving and put you in touch with the feelings Naomi crossed. Dog at Large is a hilarious _expression of the anger and pain she obviously felt.

Naomi will find many a reader that connects with her journey in I Kissed a Frog and My Prince Forgave Me. Many of the poems could stand on their own with little association to infidelity but when these poems are gathered into a collection like this they tell a moving emotional story that poetry lovers everywhere will cherish.

I Kissed a Frog and My Prince Forgave Me is a very personal journey that will hold you captive from the first page to the last. I will be anxiously awaiting Naomi’s next book.

"A touching collection of poetry that details one woman's obviously painful journey through infidelity. Naomi allows her readers a rare glimpse into a world that is often shrouded by secrecy. A must read for anyone who has walked this path."

Kissed a Frog and My Prince Forgave Me - Review

The new book of poetry, I Kissed a Frog and My Prince Forgave Me, is a well-crafted poetic journey through infidelity.
Naomi reveals the most vulnerable time in her married life. Her poetry teaches us that married couples tend to forget about each otheršs needs and become absorbed in habitual day-to-day behavior. While she strained for the attention that her husband would not or could not provide the author put on a performance of a happily content wife, when she was really screaming inside.

Her confusion ripens with the prospect of temptation. The thrill of spontaneity coupled with feeling of being desired draws her to her lover like a drowning person would desperately clutch at a lifeline.

Craving for her husband to notice the change and discovering she never wanted the marriage to end prompts Naomi to confess her wrong doings. When it all is revealed, the author endures the torturous guilt while watching her husband wreathe in the pain she inflicted upon him.

In the end, I think Naomi provides hope for us all in showing us the reasons for, and the effects of, infidelity and walking us through the steps of recovery for their marriage.  I felt encouraged that if we really show one another how very much we are loved and open the channels of communication, our marriages have a chance of not only thwarting this common mistake, but also to thrive in a world of strife and temptation.
