Synopsis:

This poetry will take you through my story of infidelity. I became emotionally divorced in my marriage but could see no fair way out. I fell for a married man who made every effort to bring love and joy into my life. My heart and soul crossed the line and I found myself aboard a roller coaster ride of emotions. Mind and heart were in constant conflict. Everything I had started slipping away and everything I wanted was just out of reach.

In confessing, I was faced with reality. The other man proved he was not as he seemed. I meant nothing to him. My pride bruised and my heart shattered I had no trust left. To heal I owned my mistakes and learned to forgive. I took my life back. My husband and I reconciled through real love and complete honesty. The poems express my thoughts through this journey.

What's New?

Erika Staples review on "I Kissed A Frog, and My Prince Forgave Me" written by Naomi Jo Rush

"I Kissed A Frog, and My Prince Forgave Me" is an incredible collection of poetry taking you through Naomi’s thoughts and feeling of her infidelity. This is not an ordinary book of poetry. It is much more like a novel broken up into wonderful poems. Reading this book I saw the events unravel in my mind, and felt connected to each character. This is a wonderful book for husbands, wives, mistresses, for every man and every woman.

Naomi describes the loneliness she felt in her marriage in the poem "Emotional Quicksand"

forever sinking in

murky clouds of confusion

Discusses all of the broken vows, and kept vows, in the poem "Broken Vows"

We owned our mistakes and realized… the most important vows…

For better or worse, til death do us part-to us, have always

held their meaning.

My favorite is this line from the poem "Valentine Note"

No matter what our tomorrow brings, I will treasure our

yesterdays.

You even feel Naomi’s pain after the infidelity comes to an end, especially when she draws such a vivid pictures using words such as these pulled from the poem "No Contact"

But I can whisper your name.

Ears alone cannot hear it.

Said for the night sky.

Just to make the stars twinkle,

and the moon grin

at my hidden thoughts.

Through all the loneliness, joy, love, tears and pain, in the end Naomi "found contentment" because she found her "Knight". It was truly an amazing story, and while reading it I felt as if I was watching a movie. I used so many quotes from the book because I could not put it in better words myself, and felt that even the few lines I pulled out to share will make you pick up the book and read the beautiful poems. I highly recommend this book to anyone.
